These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of RolerGrade (the “Service”), operated by [PLACEHOLDER: legal entity name] (“RolerGrade”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t register or use the Service.
1. What RolerGrade is
RolerGrade is a platform for finding, assembling, and coordinating with people to work on projects together, organised around the roles and skills members list on their profile. Members can create Teams, start Projects (standalone or inside a Team), search for and invite people by role, and rate one another’s work once a project is marked complete.
RolerGrade is a coordination tool. We are not a party to any agreement, work arrangement, or payment between members, and we do not employ, represent, or vouch for any member. Whether to work with someone, on what terms, and for what payment (if any) is entirely between the members involved.
2. Who can use RolerGrade
- You must be at least 18 years old to register.
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
- You’re responsible for your account and everything that happens under it — keep your password confidential and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One account per person. Accounts are personal and may not be sold, transferred, or shared.
3. Your content and conduct
You keep ownership of what you post (profile details, project descriptions, messages, ratings, photos). By posting it, you give RolerGrade a licence to host, display, and distribute it as needed to operate the Service — for example, showing your profile on a teammate’s project page, or your cover photo on your member card.
You agree not to:
- Post anything false, defamatory, infringing, or unlawful;
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation, skills, or qualifications;
- Harass, abuse, or discriminate against other members;
- Use the Service to spam, scrape, or solicit members outside its intended purpose;
- Attempt to circumvent any access control, rate limit, or security measure.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach this section, at our discretion.
4. Teams, Projects, and Ratings
Teams and Projects are collaboration spaces members create and manage themselves. Role Ratings and Proficiency levels are self-declared by each member and, where rated by others, reflect the subjective opinion of the rating member — RolerGrade does not independently verify skills, qualifications, licensing, insurance, or the accuracy of any rating, and makes no guarantee about the quality, timeliness, or safety of any work performed by a member.
A “Verified” badge, where shown, indicates only that RolerGrade has completed whatever limited check applies to that badge at the time it was granted — it is not a certification of skill, character, or trustworthiness, and should not be relied on as one.
You’re solely responsible for exercising your own judgement — including any checks, references, contracts, or insurance you consider appropriate — before engaging another member to do real-world work.
5. Fees, advertising, and paid features
Core use of RolerGrade — creating an account, Teams, and Projects, and connecting with other members — is free.
RolerGrade is funded, and may in future be funded, through a combination of:
- Advertising. Free accounts may see ads from RolerGrade’s advertising partners in designated areas of the site.
- A “Supporter” membership that removes ads and shows a Supporter badge on your profile. This is currently offered at no cost while payment processing is being set up; RolerGrade reserves the right to convert Supporter (or introduce a similarly-positioned tier) into a paid subscription in future, with the price and billing terms published before anyone is charged.
- Promoted Project listings — paid, better-visibility placement for a Project — and paid Verification for members, both currently offered at RolerGrade’s discretion while payment processing is being set up, on the same basis as Supporter above.
Where a feature becomes chargeable, we’ll publish its price and billing terms (and, where legally required, obtain your renewed consent) before you’re charged. Once paid plans are live, applicable fees, billing cycles, cancellation, and refund terms will be set out on the relevant pricing page and incorporated into these Terms by reference.
RolerGrade does not process, hold, or take any commission on payment for real-world project work between members. Any such payment is arranged directly between the members involved, entirely outside the Service, and RolerGrade is not a party to it and accepts no responsibility for it.
6. Third-party services
RolerGrade uses a small number of third-party services to operate: a location/geocoding lookup (OpenStreetMap Nominatim) when you set a location, a product-analytics service (Microsoft Clarity) to understand how the Service is used, and an advertising network to serve ads described in Section 5. Each operates under its own terms and privacy practices.
7. Intellectual property
The RolerGrade name, logo, and the Service’s design and code (excluding member-submitted content) belong to [PLACEHOLDER: legal entity name] or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from them without our written permission.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it, including the location and profile data described above. It’s part of these Terms by reference.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don’t guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any member, rating, or project outcome meets any particular standard.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RolerGrade is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service, or from any interaction, agreement, or work arrangement between members — including any dispute over payment, workmanship, or project outcome. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms, or for any other reason with reasonable notice where practical.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on the Service, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Where we’re required to get your renewed consent (for example, before introducing a paid feature), we’ll ask for it separately.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [PLACEHOLDER: governing-law jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
